Attention: Greenwashing- What you should consider when buying natural cosmetics

Are you one of those people who pay attention to buying sustainable and environmentally friendly cosmetic products and avoiding harmful substances? This is not so easy! Because many manufacturers advertise their cosmetics as organic or climate-neutral, even though they are not. This is called greenwashing.

But how do you recognize when cosmetics have been washed green?

We at Pandu Biokosmetik give you tips on which labels are reliable and how you can recognize products that keep what they promise.

A look behind the beautiful facade

The need for environmentally friendly cosmetic products is growing. Responsible people want cosmetics that are low in CO2 produce, contain no microplastics and are free from harmful ingredients.

The cosmetics industry has recognized this desire and is trying to give the impression of sustainability with clever marketing. This is why terms that appear “green” appear on the packaging, such as:

  • Of course
  • Organic
  • Vegan
  • No animal testing

But the advertising message is not always right. Despite their labelling, many cosmetic products damage the environment and do not contain natural but chemical substances that can have hormonal effects or be carcinogenic.

Pandu organic cosmetics are committed to transparency

The problem is: natural cosmetics is not a protected term. The cosmetics industry can market cosmetics labeled as natural without meeting the criteria.

But how do you differentiate real natural cosmetics from fake products? Pandu Biokosmetik has put together the most important tips on how to recognize cosmetic products that are good for hair, skin and the environment.
